Comedy classic "A Funny Thing Happened....' comes to the Croswell

Comedy classic

Area theater audiences will get the chance to see a comedy classic this month when the Croswell Opera House in Adrian stages “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”

The musical features a score by Stephen Sondheim and a script by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, who was one of the creators of “M*A*S*H.” The Croswell’s production opens Friday.

 ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ lands at the Croswell

The Croswell Opera House in Adrian will kick off its summer season with the musical “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” which opens June 10 and runs for three weekends.

“It’s a great family story full of imagination,” director Julianne Dolan said. The show is based on the children’s book by Ian Fleming and the 1968 movie musical of the same name.

Oldest theater in Michigan to reopen after yearlong renovation

The Croswell Opera House in downtown Adrian is reopening its doors after undergoing extensive renovations for the past year.

The Croswell, named for a former governor of Michigan who helped build the theater, first opened in 1866. The League of Historic American Theatres lists it as the oldest in the state. It has been in continuous operation for 151 years.

Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is preparing for its fourth show in this year’s International Touring Season. Their next show features New York, NY Dueling Pianos on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 pm.

This comedy-based dueling piano show is always a fun, high-energy party-in-a-box! The pianists will sing and play everything from Jimmy Buffet to Garth Brooks and Katy Perry to Lady Gaga and even Metallica – and, of course, everything in between! Adrian, MI and West Hartford, CT – February 6, 2017 – Ninety-six (96) employees of The Simon Konover Company (TSKC) logged in more than 300 volunteer service hours during the two week period of January 16-27, 2017 as part of The Simon Konover Company Day of Giving Back program.

The Holiday Inn Express Adrian and the Super 8 Adrian, Michigan, which are both owned and managed by affiliates of The Simon Konover Company, participated in the program. Twenty-one (21) associates representing the two hotels contributed 84 volunteer hours at The Daily Bread in Adrian, Michigan.
