Ninth Annual Wassail Fest and Hot-cha-cha 5K Mug Run

Wassail-makers will create extra brew this year. The annual celebration of holiday merriment is a way to share the season with friend while visiting many of the unique shops and offerings of the business district and tasting the many varieties of wassail created by local merchants. Wassail is a hot or mulled cider beverage that originated in the south and west regions of England in the middle ages and can also be attributed to medieval German traditions. When registering, participants will receive a punch card to keep track of their favorite wassails. Later in the evening the new Wassailmeister of Blissfield will be revealed at B-Town Bar & Grill.
To participate in Wassail Fest, a 2019 Blissfield Wassail Fest Mug must be purchased for $20. With it you will get a punch card and a map that will lead to wassail locations. Participates can pre-register at the Blissfield Village Office, 130 S. Lane or online at www.blissfieldmichigan.gov
The Hot-cha-cha 5k Mug Run has proven to be popular along side the Wassail Fest. The proceeds benefit the Miss River Raisin Scholarship Program. What makes the event fun is that many compete for a best costume prize. Race day registration begins at 5:30pm at the Blissfield Town Ship Office. Racers will take their mark at 6:30pm in the center of downtown. the $25 cost includes a Wassail Fest mug for adults 21& up as well as entrance into the Wassail Fest.
