The Beekeeping School is a sixteen-week program that meets two Saturdays per month from March through October. The first five Saturdays are classroom instruction and training. The sixth week is hands-on constructing of beekeeping equipment. The next six weeks consists of hands-on hive observation, inspection, and record keeping. The last four weeks of the school involve honey harvesting and processing followed by bee colony winter preparation. Registration includes the book “First Lessons in Beekeeping” plus weekly printed hand-outs.
Beekeeping School class sessions take place at Hidden Lake Gardens and are scheduled from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the following Saturdays:
March 16 and 30.
April 13 and 27.
May 11 and 25.
June 8 and 22.
July 13 and 27.
August 10 and 24.
September 14 and 28.
October 12 and 26.
Cost: $160.00 per person. Fees paid in full with class registration. Must 18 years old to register and participate. Students age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
