Welcome to Lenawee County

Visit Lenawee was established in January 1993 as an independent 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization to promote tourism to the area (Previously known as the Lenawee County Conference and Visitors Bureau). Visit Lenawee is funded by Michigan’s P.A. 59 of 1984 (Community Convention of Tourism Marketing Act 395 of 1980), which provides a 5% assessment from local hotels/motels with more than 10 rooms in the assessment district of Lenawee County.

Mission

It is the mission of  Visit Lenawee to promote Lenawee County as a destination providing contemporary amenities to transient guests in an historic and cultural setting for the benefit of the community.

Lenawee County is a vibrant four-season destination, connecting people with meaningful experiences while enhancing our economy and quality of life.

 

Our Staff

Justin Gifford, Executive Director

Justin Gifford  was born and raised in Lenawee County, and believes that the opportunity to lead Visit Lenawee as the Executive Director is the career he has been searching for.
Gifford served in a number of business roles prior to his work at Visit Lenawee. During his time with South Central Michigan Works!, he was responsible for all community outreach, marketing, and advertising for the Tri-County area (Hillsdale, Jackson, and Lenawee Counties).  His previous business background has allowed him the opportunity to build and continue to develop local relationships with other organizations.
Gifford holds a master’s degree in business management with a concentration in marketing communications from Colorado Technical University.

Paula Burke, Office Manager

Paula moved to Lenawee with her husband in April 2004 and immediately fell in love with Hidden Lake Gardens and the scenic hiking & biking trails located around the county. She joined Visit Lenawee in June 2015. Paula also is a partner at Ghidrah’s Emporium, a retail store that specializes in natural products & wellness services, located in historic downtown Adrian. Besides enjoying the picturesque surroundings in Lenawee County, she resonates with recycling, reusing, refurbishing and growing organic vegetables & herbs for her family and friends.

Haley Rising, Events & Marketing Coordinator

Haley is a lifelong resident of Lenawee County, and hopes to cultivate community growth with her position at Visit Lenawee. She loves spending time outdoors, especially walking the local trails and taking her kids to the nearby parks. Haley enjoys attending local festivals, her favorite being Artilicious. She loves seeing local artist come together, and thinks it’s so important to keep art alive in our community. Haley also has a background in design and marketing. She has a passion for results driven marketing strategies, especially in helping bring success to local businesses.
