McCourtie Park - Amazing Cement Bridges
While McCourtie Park is not located IN Lenawee County....it is located just a mile or so outside our county line, in Hillsdale County. The cement bridges within the park are each unique and unusual - this park should be included in any visit to the Lenawee County/Irish Hills area! There is a wonderful peacefulness surrounding the bridges which makes the park a perfect oasis for an afternoon picnic, a photo opportunity or just a leisurely walk along the stream. Take note...you might even get a glimpse of a ghost - the mysterious & beautiful Lady in Blue!
Come stay in Lenawee and include a visit to McCourtie Park, located just beyond the Irish Hills area of Lenawee County!
...and right down the road is: Meckley’s Flavor Fruit Farm...family fun at the farm!
McCourtie Park is located in Somerset Center, Hillsdale County, MI. Specifically located on the north side of US12 at the junction with Jackson St., 2 miles west of US127 This amazing bridge over the creek is made entirely of concrete and is made to look like tree trunks, branches and a thatched roof! The park has 17 unique and individual cement bridges, two ponds, huge birdhouses, underground quarters and unique tree chimneys - not to be missed! Photo by Mark Comstock.
The park is always available to visitors, however, if a special event or guided (historical) tour of the site would interest your group...contact Deb Spicer, Somerset Twp., at 517-688-9223 Lenawee County CVB: 800-536-2933 or 517-263-7747
